Press Box PR, one of the fastest-growing PR agencies in its sector, is looking for an Account Director to join its Consumer team.
The Press Box PR team has grown from 0 to over 50 in the space of five years and combines extensive journalistic experience with top PR professionals to offer a unique proposition in the market.
Press Box PR is a fast-growing PR agency, staffed predominantly by journalists who have made successful moves into PR. Formed in 2020, Press Box PR has grown quickly to become a thriving 50 person agency working for a range of consumer, sport, B2B and retail and hospitality clients on digital and creative PR projects.
Press Box PR is based in Barbican, central London and operates an office-first hybrid model meaning teams spend an average of three days a week in the office and visiting clients at varying sites.
The role
As Press Box PR continues to grow in its 6th year and the Consumer department continues to expand, we're looking for somebody to be a driving force when it comes to securing new business for the department across its digital PR specialism and both brand and content marketing activations.
The successful candidate must be highly skilled in the realms of client management, commercial growth and have proven experience working with brands on a range of briefs. This will complement and bolster the exceptional journalistic and digital PR experience within the team.
This role would suit a candidate who has proven experience being the main agenda-setting point person with a client in an influential, consultative and ultimately revenue-generating capacity.
The successful candidate will report into the Director and Head of Consumer, working closely with the department's senior team with a focus on growing revenues across both existing and new clients.
The role will have a commercial focus, with key responsibilities including winning new business, lead generation, smoothly onboarding clients in multiple sectors as well as pitching and delivering on upsell digital PR projects, brand work and activation campaigns. As digital PR is our core product, a thorough understanding of the digital PR landscape and SEO needs is essential.
Press Box PR’s Consumer team work for clients in a range of sectors, spanning Government organisations through to household name betting and gaming brands, with recent new business wins including lifestyle, e-commerce, payments and personal finance.
Requirements
You are:
- A PR professional with over 5 years of relevant experience, including in a senior client-management and commercial growth capacity
- A PR professional with direct experience of leading and influencing clients and decision makers in a new business environment, as well as high-level client management delivering revenue growth
- Comfortable working with a range brands and organisations, proactively defining and delivering strategy and securing buy in to plans and ideas
- Confident and comfortable in working in a growth environment, finding and converting leads
- A professional with excellent client, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Well organised and effective at proactively managing competing deadlines, priorities and tasks
- Capable of rigorous advance planning
- An excellent relationship builder, capable of managing client expectations and setting agendas through a range of forums including in-person meetings
- Confident working with digital PR/PR for SEO and reporting into performance marketing functions

- Experience delivering brand activation work or brand-led campaigns
- Experience working for clients in sectors including payments, finance, e-commerce, FMCG, betting and gaming and other fast-paced, regulated consumer industries
Salary, benefits and perks
- Salary: £48,000-£55,000 DOE

Press Box PR operates on an office-first hybrid model consisting of three days a week in the office, with another two days at home. The role may also involve occasional travel within the UK and beyond.
